MILE HIGH – BRINGING AVIATION EYEWEAR INTO THE 21st CENTURY
We’re all fond of the traditional aviator sunglasses made by Ray-Ban, Serengeti and others. Excellent sunglasses they may be, but this is the 21st century – isn’t it time we looked out of the box a little bit? After all, traditional pilot sunglasses often don’t give you:
QUALITY, STRENGTH, CONFORMITY
Mile High sunglasses have been specifically designed for pilots of all types of aircraft, from gliders to 747’s and hang-gliders to Tiger Moths. The head-strap, wrap-around styling, light weight and strength make them ideal for extreme sports, which is why the British Hang Gliding team use our sunglasses as their eyewear of choice!
All of our sunglasses offer 100% UVA / UVB protection, and conform to European safety standard En1836. They also comply with the US ANSI Z80.3, and as such, a sample from each batch is subjected to the famous ‘drop test’ at the factory.
All Mile High lenses are protected by an anti-scratch coating, and they are de-centred to nullify the possible distorting effects of placing a curved lens in front of your face. The lenses are finished to the highest specifications.
Important note: In line with CAA recommendations, our Mile High sunglasses are not polarised. Polarised lenses reduce glare by filtering horizontal light, but this filtering process can make digital instrumentation unreadable. Polarised sunglasses are not recommended for any situation where the reading of digital instruments is essential.
HEADSET COMFORT
Mile High frames have been especially chosen for their compatibility and comfort with headset wearing.

- Interchangeable lenses for different light conditions
- Complete wrap-around for total blockage of unwanted light and wind from the sides and bottom of your vision
- Great strength – our polycarbonate sunglasses are very unlikely to break, even when subjected to extreme duress. A sample of all our glasses are subjected to a factory drop-test
- Tremendous value – the idea that you have to spend a lot of money on quality eyewear is nothing but a myth. At less than £50 per pair, Mile High pilot sunglasses represent tremendous value for money
- Prescription Interchangeables – Our Aviate model offers all the benefits of the standard glasses for spectacle wearers
