LUNA POLARISED SUNGLASSES FOR DRIVING
The Luna design takes our ever popular Breeze frame and swaps the original blue Frostech lens for a grey polarised mirror tint that's perfect for driving. The main features of Luna polarised sunglasses for driving are as follows:
- lightweight, wrap-around frame
- Frame made from a tough TR90 composite
- 3 x interchangeable lens sets for different light conditions
- Lenses have vent cut-outs for anti-fogging
- Adjustable nose clip
- Carry case, cleaning cloth and head securing strap included as standard
The Frames
Finished in a highly attractive white and red scheme, the frames have rubberised tips for comfort. Being extremely light, and thanks to a slight flex that makes the sunglasses fit most sizes and shapes of head well, Luna are very comfortable to wear. The frame is made from TR90, a plastic composite material famous for being virtually bullet-proof and thus superior to the more common polycarbonate.
The Luna frame also benefits from an adjustable rubber nose clip, which can be narrowed or widened to exactly fit the wearer's requirements.
The Lenses
Made from an extremely robust and impact resistant polycarbonate, all lenses bundled with Luna are made to very high optical standards. Three sets of lenses are provided as standard, and these are as follows:
- Category 0, low-light conditions. For use on dull or cloudy days and at night - an AR (anti-reflective) coating reduces glare from oncoming vehicles and street lamps
- Category 2, beige polarised. For use on fairly bright or changeable days
- Category 3, grey polarised mirror for use on bright / sunny days
All lenses supplied with Luna are anti-scratch coated, and decentred, which means the possible distorting effects of placing a curved lens in front of your eyes are calibrated out at the manufacturing stage.
All lenses filter out blue light, which improves the definition of the field and ball in your field of view.
Polarised lenses filter out glare, which is caused by the sun's rays bouncing off horizontal surfaces, such as a road surface. The filtering process is effected by adding a filter that removes the horizontal light.
The Package
Luna are supplied with a lint-free cleaning cloth, head securing retainer and carry case as standard. The case has internal pouches for storing the extra lenses, plus a belt fixing catch and loops, making for easy access to your sunglasses when you need them in a hurry.
Conformity
All Rapid Eyewear sunglasses comply with current British, European and US standards. Luna offer 100% UVA / UVB protection on all of the lens options available.
