Standard sunglasses for sunny conditions have a category 3 lens set fitted, but we shouldn't really be using those for driving. Why? Because your windscreen is tinted. If you wear Category 3 sunglasses and look through a tinted windscreen, you could be reducing the amount of VLT (visible light transmission) reaching your eyes to dangerously low levels. This is why the AA recommend drivers wear a category 2 tint instead.
