ASPEN GLACIER SUNGLASSES FOR CLIMBING
The Aspen glacier sunglasses from Rapid Eyewear's Alpine range are the perfect, modern alternative to more traditional eyewear with cloth eye protectors. Practical, lightweight and very, very tough, Aspen feature removable rubber inserts that will keep the elements out of your eyes, plus anti-fog and anti-glare mirror coatings.
The Aspen from Rapid Eyewear feature some great lens technology, as well as excellent wind and ice blockage, plus secure fixing by way of an included retainer strap. Remove the strap and rubber wind shields, and you have a pair of sport sunglasses that can be used in any situation.
The Frames
The Aspen frame has a slight flex that enables them to fit comfortable around most sizes of head, without pinching; and yet, it won't feel as though it is about to fall off, either. The frame is made from TR90, an incredibly strong material that's superior to polycarbonate, and will ensure the glasses are highly unlikely to shatter, even in the event of a serious accident.
Finished in an attractive green / grey matt colour, the frames benefit from rubber side-arm extensions and nose pad inserts that help to provide maximum comfort levels. A pronounced ridge inside the lenses virtually eliminates unwanted wind and light intrusion all the way around your vision.
The Lenses
In line with the other sunglasses in the Rapid Eyewear Alpine range, the Aspen features Frostech anti-fog and anti-glare lenses. Finished in an attractive blue, with a mirror coating. By filtering out blue light, the Category 3 lens sharpens the edges of objects and terrain in your field of view, thereby increasing contrast and definition. The lenses are made from impact resistant polycarbonate.
UV Protection and Conformity
Rapid Eyewear sunglasses conform to British, European and US standards for sunglasses and protective equipment testing. They offer 100% UVA / UVB (UV400) protection.
Rubber Inserts and Strap - Extreme Sports Mode
It's easy to change the Aspen from a regular pair of sunglasses into a great spec pair of climbing glasses. All you need to do is add the rubber inserts, which maximise wind and snow blockage from the peripherals of your vision, then attach the push-fit head strap. Put them on, adjust the strap by pulling the toggle at the back and you're ready to go.
Pouch
Each pair of Aspen comes with a microfibre carry pouch as standard. The pouch, which has draw-strings, doubles as a microfibre cleaning cloth.
